A spiritual perspective on Marketing: put your feet in..

"Put your feet into the stream of creation"

The release of the e-book evolutionary marketing made me look at marketing with fresh eyes. (If you want a copy let me know). Marketing guru Kottler took a more sociological outlook on marketing with his research laid down in the book `Marketing 3.0`. Social Marketing is on the rise and has interesting results while social media are facilitating the brands that pave the road with succesful examples of this type of marketing.

These less functional outlooks on marketing and the prospect of Social Marketing (3.0) made me want to look more closely at Marketing. Marketing is an transparant society is not about brand eroding tactics like price promotions or promoting a bad product. My hunch was of a deeper meaning of markting, could it be about how we create life, how we form relationships? What if it is all about revealing your true identity and this way build relatiosnhips? Especially if you take entrepreneurs in mind. It's their true life's creation isn't it?

Is marketing all about holding at strong intention on what you want to contribute in the world? Intention preceeds manifestation and thus creation so this could well be true. But it also imples that it is me or I who creates. It's me who can make everything happen. This brings along unlimited possibilities. The infamous book "The Secret" talks to this.

Still when we go deeper there is something far more hopefull and place that is less lonely.
Could it be that the true nature of creation is a stream, a movement, that  it is always on? Just look outside, you didn't do all that did you? You could argue this is the creation of other people's intention. Still you know that even before people there were many creations. So it's safe to assume the stream of creation is out there. Whether you tap into it or not, it's always there. Marketing success arises when you are willing to put your feet into this stream of creation. And I won't even stipulate on happiness and growth because to my opinion that's just as much part of all creation, as is pain.

How can you tap into this stream? What does it mean to put your feet in? I think it's all to do with the extend we can bring our true self, our strength and quality to this stream. Our believe system is an important psychological blockage or facilitator of being able to do this. Attitude leads behavior and this in turn leads to customer experience. Many other spiritual laws affect marketing, it will take me some time to talk about them. And I will do this in the next blogs but for now, it's nice to sense this stream of creation exists and it's out there (and inside us). Cocreation is a newish term in this field of marketing but in effect has been there for ever. Go ahead put your feet in!
